Presentation Formats and Guidelines: We invite abstracts for presentations in the following formats:
Oral paper presentation (250 words maximum): Oral paper presentations are submitted by a primary author and up to 7 co-authors. They are organised according to their relevance to a conference theme, and grouped into 60 or 80 minute paper sessions. The session is chaired and each paper is given 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions. Poster presentation (250 words maximum): Poster presentations are submitted by a primary author and up to 7 co-authors. Posters will be displayed throughout the conference, and there will be a 45 minute poster session in which participants are invited to view posters and speak with presenters. Further information on preparing your poster presentation will be made available when you are notified of acceptance. Symposium (650 words maximum): Symposia are 80 minute sessions organised and submitted by a Chair. They comprise an overview of the symposium and an objective for the session, and include 2-4 individual symposium abstracts (as per oral paper presentation guidelines). The Chair normally introduces the session and (with a discussant) is responsible for facilitating the discussion and drawing conclusions. Submission Process: All abstracts should be submitted using the abstract form. Please submit your abstract form as an email attachment to: bsg2010@brunel.ac.uk Please ensure that the subject line in your e-mail reads "Abstract Submission BSG 2010". Acceptance: Abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Conference Academic Committee based on the following criteria:
We will inform you about the outcome of your abstract by Friday 12th March 2010. At this time we will provide confirmation of the format of your presentation (paper, poster, symposium), as well as a provisional date and time for your session within the academic programme. As the organisers cannot guarantee that presentations will be scheduled in non-conflicting time periods, we recommend that you are not primary author on more than two papers and/or symposia. The full final programme will be published on Friday 30th April. We are sorry, but we will be unable to make changes to the programme after this date. Please note that the abstract will be published, as submitted, in the conference programme and on the conference website. Conference Enquiries: Marianne Keane email: Marianne.Keane@brunel.ac.uk |
